Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using SKIPO at skipo.video, creating an account, or clicking "I agree," you confirm that:

• You have read and agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
• You are at least 13 years of age. If you are a resident of the European Union, you must be at least 16 years of age, or have verifiable parental consent.
• If you are accepting on behalf of an organisation, you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use SKIPO.

2. The Service

SKIPO is an AI-powered learning platform operated by RealEcom LTD. The service allows users to:

• Submit YouTube video URLs for AI-powered analysis
• Receive structured study guides including key insights, chapter timelines, AI-generated quizzes, action items, vocabulary, and key quotes
• Export guides to PDF, Notion, or Markdown formats (paid plans)
• Access an AI chat feature to ask questions about video content (paid plans)
• Store and organise a personal guide library with collections and streak tracking

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We continuously improve SKIPO and may update, modify, or remove features at any time without prior notice, provided such changes do not materially reduce the core functionality you are paying for.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Planned and unplanned maintenance may cause temporary downtime. Service Level Agreement (SLA) guarantees are not provided on the Free plan.

3. Accounts

To access most features of SKIPO, you must create an account using either Google OAuth or an email magic link.

• Accuracy: You must provide accurate and complete information when registering.
• Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
• One account per person: Each individual may maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits is prohibited.
• Non-transferable: Your account is personal to you and may not be shared with, sold to, or transferred to any third party.
• Notify us: If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us immediately at info@skipo.video.
• Analytics opt-out: You may change your analytics tracking level (Full / Essential / Anonymous / Disabled) at any time in Settings → Privacy. See our Privacy Policy for details.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use SKIPO only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Use automated scripts, bots, scrapers, or other tools to access the service programmatically without our written permission
• Attempt to bypass, circumvent, or manipulate plan limits, usage quotas, or access controls
• Resell, sublicense, or provide third-party access to the SKIPO service or generated outputs for commercial gain
• Submit YouTube URLs to content you do not have the right to analyse, or use the service to infringe third-party copyright
• Use the service to generate, distribute, or facilitate harmful, illegal, abusive, harassing, or deceptive content
• Violate YouTube's Terms of Service (youtube.com/t/terms) when using SKIPO in connection with YouTube content
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or access the underlying AI models or platform source code
• Interfere with the security, integrity, or performance of the platform or its infrastructure
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action, including account suspension or termination, for any violations of this section.

5. Intellectual Property

SKIPO Platform

SKIPO, including its software, algorithms, AI models, design, branding, trademarks, and all platform content created by RealEcom LTD, is the exclusive intellectual property of RealEcom LTD and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in the SKIPO platform beyond the limited licence to use the service as described.

Your Data

You retain full ownership of the data you submit to SKIPO — including YouTube URLs, AI chat messages, and any personal content. By using the service, you grant RealEcom LTD a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your data solely to provide and improve the service.

Generated Guides

Study guides generated by SKIPO are derived from publicly available YouTube transcripts processed through AI. You may use your generated guides for personal, educational, or internal business purposes. You may not:

• Republish or commercially distribute generated guides as your own original work
• Claim copyright ownership of AI-generated content as if it were wholly original human authorship

YouTube Content

YouTube videos and their transcripts remain the intellectual property of the respective content creators and rights holders. SKIPO does not claim ownership of any YouTube content. Our use of publicly available transcripts for educational summarisation is consistent with fair use / fair dealing principles under applicable copyright law.

6. Third-Party Content & Services

SKIPO uses the YouTube Data API to retrieve publicly available video transcripts. By using SKIPO, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Your use of SKIPO in connection with YouTube content is also subject to YouTube's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.
• We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or content of YouTube videos or their transcripts.
• We do not store or host YouTube video files — only the text transcript is processed.
• Our use of transcripts for educational summarisation constitutes fair use / fair dealing under UK and US copyright law.

SKIPO may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those third parties.

7. Subscription & Billing

Plans

Billing

• Payments are processed securely by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1 certified). RealEcom LTD does not store your full card number.
• Subscriptions renew automatically on your billing date. You will receive an email reminder before renewal.
• Annual plans are billed upfront for 12 months at a discounted rate.

Cancellation

• You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Access continues until the end of the paid billing period.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. No partial refunds are issued for unused time on monthly plans.

Refunds

• Monthly plans: A full refund is available within 30 days of your first payment if you have not meaningfully used the paid features. Contact info@skipo.video.
• Annual plans: Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase. After 14 days, no refund is issued except where the service has experienced significant technical failures attributable to us.
• Refunds are not available for renewals that were not cancelled before the billing date.

Price Changes

We will notify you by email at least 30 days before any price increase takes effect. You may cancel before the new price applies if you do not wish to continue.

8. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

You acknowledge and agree that:

• Generated guides are based on AI interpretation of video transcripts and may not perfectly reflect the content, intent, or accuracy of the original video.
• SKIPO is a learning aid and not a substitute for professional, medical, legal, financial, or other expert advice.
• You should verify important information from the original source or independent references before acting upon it.
• RealEcom LTD is not responsible for any decisions made or actions taken in reliance on AI-generated content.
• AI models may change over time, which may affect the style or quality of generated outputs.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• RealEcom LTD's total aggregate liability to you in connection with these Terms or your use of SKIPO shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the fees you paid to us in the 3 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100.
• RealEcom LTD shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business, or goodwill — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
• We are not liable for service interruptions, data loss, or failures caused by third-party providers (including OpenAI, Anthropic, Stripe, or Google) or events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RealEcom LTD and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:

• Your violation of these Terms of Service
• Your use of the SKIPO service in a manner not authorised by these Terms
• Your infringement of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
• Any content you submit to or through the service

11. Termination

Termination by you

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting info@skipo.video. Upon deletion, your data will be removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., payment records retained for 7 years).

Termination by us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, with or without notice, if:

• You materially breach these Terms and fail to remedy the breach within 7 days of notice (where the breach is capable of remedy)
• You engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
• We are required to do so by law or regulatory authority
• We discontinue the service (with reasonable advance notice)

On termination for cause, you will not be entitled to a refund of any prepaid fees.

12. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

We encourage you to contact us at info@skipo.video before initiating any formal proceedings — most issues can be resolved quickly and informally.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the service, legal requirements, or our business practices.

For material changes, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. You will have the opportunity to review the updated Terms and cancel your subscription if you do not agree.

For minor clarifications or corrections, we may update the Terms without prior notice. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always indicates when the Terms were last revised.

Continued use of SKIPO after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of those Terms.
